Quick Question,…When was the last time you gave something to someone in need? It could be something as simple as a sweet smile, a quick pat to your street dog, or offering a cool drink to the delivery person. “YES” … if you answered a happy YES, then cheers to you. Giving brings a sense of Joy within us that adds up to a few grains of sand to the hourglass that represents your lifespan.
Students of St Lawrence English Medium School love to give
In a little rural village, children are encouraged to do just that. Every week they donate 1 rupee and collect them in little blue pouches. And just like bees they pool in their honey. They account for the total money collected. The collected money has so far helped a cancer and a kidney patient. It doesn’t just stop there, parents also pool in for the community.
They take charge of accounting for the donation received.
The Science Behind Generosity ...
There’s growing evidence suggesting that givers are happier than those who receive. Why wouldn’t they be? Giving feels good. Releasing endorphins and giving you a warm feeling of love and comfort. In addition, giving is contagious and it encourages others to do so… Making you much more likely to receive support from the community. Let us all make this world a little bit better.
May we all cherish the Joy of Giving.
